WebSphere Application Server v8 Primer, Part-2: IBM Installation Manager

In the first part of this multi-part series “WebSphere Application Server v8 Primer” , we look at the first change from an administrator perspective. It is the way you install the product. V6.x and v7.x used ISMP for the installation and from v8.x onwards “IBM Installation Manager (IIM)” has been introduced for installation, update, uninstall etc..

The document below covers all things you should know about the new IIM; Installation, connecting to online repositories , adding offline repositories etc .. . The document is made using the IIM beta version as i used WAS v8 Network deployment beta through out this series.
